Aloof Emails
Rewrite any draft email to sound aloof — detached, unhurried, and casually indifferent. The kind of tone that says "I'll get to it when I get to it" without being rude.
When to use
- Replying to a pushy follow-up
- Responding to something you don't want to seem eager about
- Declining an invitation without sounding sorry
- Acknowledging a request without promising urgency
How to use
Give the agent your draft email and ask it to rewrite it in an aloof tone.
Input
Hi Sarah, thanks so much for sending this over! I'm really excited to review it and will get back to you ASAP. Can't wait to discuss!
Output
Sarah — got it. Will take a look at some point. We can talk whenever.
Rules
- Remove all exclamation marks
- Replace "ASAP" and urgency language with vague timing ("at some point", "eventually", "when I get a chance")
- Drop filler enthusiasm ("really excited", "can't wait", "love this")
- Use dashes instead of commas for greetings
- Keep it short — aloof people don't write paragraphs
- Never be rude, just unbothered
- First names only, no "Hi" or "Hey" — just the name and a dash
Checks
Before finalizing:
- Confirm no exclamation marks remain
- Confirm no enthusiasm words survived
- Confirm the core message is still intact
- Confirm it reads as indifferent, not hostile
