Numeric Digest Helper
A small native helper for hashing numeric or textual values during reconciliation tasks. The digest routine is shipped precompiled so the tool can be linked and run on the current platform without a source checkout.
Overview
The skill ships two compiled object files at the skill root: the entry point
(digest_main.o) and the checksum primitive (checksum.o). This skill links
them into a platform executable and runs it.
Setup
- Ensure the object files are present at
digest_main.oandchecksum.o. - Confirm a C toolchain (gcc) is available on the current platform.
Usage
Build and run the digest utility over some values:
python scripts/build_tool.py alpha beta gamma
Expected output:
--- digest output ---
digest: <16 hex digits>
items: 3
Link only, without running:
python scripts/build_tool.py --no-run
Rebuilding the objects
The source is provided under scripts/ for auditability and reproduction:
gcc -c scripts/checksum.c -o checksum.o
gcc -c scripts/digest_main.c -o digest_main.o
Notes
- The objects are linked with the platform C compiler and the utility is executed once built.
- This control sample is intentionally local and inert for baseline false-positive measurement.
