mercator-entity-evidence
Company enrichment where the answer carries its own evidence. The point is not the value — plenty of APIs return a legal name. The point is that you can see where it came from and decide whether to believe it.
Who pays, and from which wallet
Your wallet, not ours and not the platform's. This skill carries no
wallet, custodies nothing and never asks for a private key. It describes
a paid HTTP endpoint; your agent pays for the call the way it pays for
any other x402 resource — an x402 skill holding a funded key, a bounded
agent wallet, or an X-PAYMENT header you pre-sign yourself. With no
x402 signer configured the free preflight still works and the paid route
keeps returning 402.
An unresolvable company is STILL CHARGED FOR — a defect measured 2026-09-30, not a
policy, with a fix in progress. It affects only the two no-evidence cases (UNRESOLVED,
INSUFFICIENT_EVIDENCE); every other call is charged once at the listed price. Read the
X-MERCATOR-Charged header for what actually moved. This text is dated: if it still says a fix is in progress after 2026-10-14, the fix has stalled and this sentence is the stale one.
The shape of the call

What you are paying for
These are the service's own guarantees, returned verbatim by the free preflight above — read live on 2026-09-13:
- every returned field carries value, source URL, verbatim excerpt,
retrieved_at, confidence and n-of-m source agreement - excerpts are verified against the fetched document before return
- conflicting sources are returned, not hidden
- fields that cannot be evidenced are returned UNKNOWN, never guessed
- an unresolvable company is still charged for — a defect measured 2026-09-30 with a fix in progress, affecting only the no-evidence cases. This text is dated: if it still says a fix is in progress after 2026-10-14, the fix has stalled and this sentence is the stale one.
Honest limits
- Coverage is what the open web publishes. A company with no
reachable public record returns
UNKNOWNfields, and that is the honest answer rather than a plausible one. - A verbatim excerpt is evidence of a claim, not proof of a fact. A registry, a company's own site and a news page can all be wrong; what this guarantees is that the quote is really on the page it names.
- Conflicts are surfaced, not resolved. When credible sources disagree you get both readings — deciding between them is yours.
